Vermont makes creation of virtual corporations possible

A number of my blogposts deal with the possibility of virtual companies. I think those could be a dramatic example of globalization, making the world flat and making geography collapse. Though it is past midnight here in Belgium, I feel excited enough to write this post, just to refer to a story by James Wagner Au on GigaOm and New World Notes, where he reports that

It is now possible to create a legally recognized limited liability corporation that only exists on the Internet (but incorporated in Vermont.) In the post for GigaOM I note that this option’s potentially open “even for corporations that exist only in Second Life”.

James Wagner Au had an interview about this with Professor of Law David Johnson of the New York Law School and provides some very interesting links about this development, which could be very important.

I will try to follow up on this story as soon as possible.
